Home is where all the little things happen, the conversations at the dinner table, the laughs, the tears, the snuggles. Those little moments are the ones that matter most to us. A lot of times, we don't pay attention to those moments as they are unfolding, but we should try to slow down once in a while and try to be truly present. In-home sessions are one of my favorites as it lets me tell a simple but a very powerful story of the family, of where it all started. It lets me document parents love for their child(ren) and one another in an authentic, nostalgic way. Years will pass by and the photos of our everyday life will be the most impactful ones, the ones that hold our life together.
This heartfelt, candid family holiday session was done in family's home in Tampa, FL. It was so heartwarming to capture the joy kiddos had playing with the Christmas boxes and tinsel, capture the couch family snuggles and loving moments between parents and their children. One of my favorite images from this session is of mom sitting next to the window with her littles.
It is nostalgic
Looking back at the images years later will take you right back to the smell of the cookies, the voices laughing in the kitchen, the touch of the favorite blanket laying on the couch, the love that was shared.
It is authentic
Let me document you and your family as you are, in the comfort of your home. Let me capture your daughter cuddling on her favorite blanket with her favorite unicorn. Let me capture your family gathered around the kitchen table - the same kitchen table where family meals and conversations happen every day. Incorporating an activity family enjoys doing together is also a great way to tell your unique story.
It is peacful
Our homes is where we put our guard down, where we feel most safe, comfortable and at ease. It is where mom cuddles her toddler, makes every boo boo better, wipes away tears, looks for monsters under the bed. It is where family cooks together while sharing troubles and joys of the day,
the books that family reads together, the front door through which family comes thought to put the world behind them and just be.
IT IS timeless
Maybe it will be last Christmas in your home before having to move, the last month the baby wants her pacifier, or the last time your middle schooler wants to be tucked into bed by parent. So many things can change in a short time, but the memories of it all will be frozen in time.
